It’s proven that endorphins are released in the brain when creating pain like such so in a deep tissue session. If your body is currently experiencing pain and tightness then by allowing your therapist to go deep into the muscle you are creating more damage.
The body tenses up in order to protect itself from harm, so if you feel your body tighten-up ask your massage therapist to ease up on the tension. By toughing it out this doesn’t fix the problem and can actually cause injury. The body accepts healing at the soft touch, tapping, and going to the root cause of the muscle connection which are often related to diet and how the organs relate.
There’s a time for deep tissue.
